Her relationship with music exec Scooter Braun is still going strong
Sydney Sweeney might be a constant on our screens and on red carpets around the world, but when it comes to her love life, she’s done her best to keep that as low-key as possible. The actress was previously engaged to Jonathan Davino, and kept their relationship pretty private during their seven years together, but now, she’s dating music executive Scooter Braun—and the new couple has already taken their romance public.
Following her breakup with Davino early last year, a source who spoke to People said Sweeney is embracing a new chapter. “She’s completely focused on work and excited for everything she has coming up,” they said. They further explained how, amid her busy work life, her schedule has become unpredictably packed. “The wedding, the pressure—it just didn’t feel right,” the source added.
Though she’s known for keeping her personal life under wraps, fans have long speculated about who Sweeney has dated (including viral rumors surrounding her Anything But You co-star Glen Powell). Scooter Braun: September 2025 – Now
Rumors of Sweeney being romantically linked to Scooter Braun started swirling just months after the two met while attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s Venice weddingin June 2025, and reportedly “hung out in Italy” during the weekend’s festivities.
In September, sources confirmed to People that the two were “casually dating.” Since then, they’ve been spotted out publicly together on multiple occasions—from holding hands on Los Angeles dates, to stepping out for walks in New York City, and very publicly kissing on a rock in Central Park.
A source confirmed to People in December that, after three months of dating, the couple was getting more serious. “Scooter and Sydney are going strong, and things between them are great,” the insider said. “They’re in a committed relationship, and things are serious.”
Though the couple has kept a lower profile this year, they were photographed getting dinner together on April 5, 2026, in Los Angeles—proving that they’re very much still an item.
Braun, who is 16 years Sweeney’s senior, was previously married to Yael Cohen, with whom he shares three children. After separating in 2021, the former couple divorced in 2022. The music exec is best known for managing artists such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande— and, perhaps most notably, for his highly publicized feud with Taylor Swift over the ownership of her master recordings.
Jonathan Davino (2018-2025)
Before he was linked to one of Hollywood’s biggest rising stars, Jonathan Davino was a Chicago-based businessman. He previously owned two Windy City restaurants—Mista Pizza and Pompei Xpress—both of which have since shut down.
Davino and Sweeney were first spotted together in 2018, reportedly attending an Emmys after-party at the Nomad Hotel in Los Angeles. By November 2020, paparazzi had caught the couple kissing in Hawaii while Sweeney was filming The White Lotus.
In 2023, fans speculated that Sweeney might be romantically involved with Powell while filming Anyone But You together, however, both stars insisted their chemistry was limited to just being on-screen. At the time, sources close to the actor noted that Sweeney and Davino were still very much together and set to be married.
By early 2025, however, Sweeney and Davino’s relationship had shifted. In February, TMZ reported that the couple had hit pause on their wedding plans due to career demands. Then, on March 31, People confirmed the two had officially called it quits, with the actual breakup reportedly taking place as early as January. Sweeney confirmed the news in an interview with U.K. newspaper The Sunday Times in June.
A source told People: “They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.” Another insider added that the idea of getting married simply didn’t feel right to Sweeney at this point in her life.
